Patterns and Algebra. The student will:

•  Find the rule for simple number patterns
•  Describe the rule in words and find the formula
•  Substitute numbers into letters and solve
•  Write the equations for the rules
•  Solve problems using algebra

Equations and Inequalities. The student will:

•  Solve equations with an unknown on one side
•  Solve equations with an unknown on both sides
•  Remove brackets to solve equations
•  Solve equations by eliminating numbers or unknowns
•  Solve word problems
