Introduction to the basic units and measurements used in physics, some of the devices used and some of the mathematical concepts involved.

Content/contenido

Students will be able to:

•  use and describe the use of rules and measuring cylinders to determine length and volume,
•  to determine mathematically the volume of a regular solid,
•  use and describe the use of clocks and devices for measuring an interval of time,
•  show familiarity with the idea of the mass of a body,
•  state that weight is a force,
•  describe an experiment to determine the density of a liquid and of a regularly shaped solid and make the necessary calculation
