| Subject/materia: FISICA | Grade/curso: 8º | Term/bimestre:3-A | | Guiding question / pregunta guía | How can kinetic theory help to describe everyday phenomena? | | Area of Interaction/área de interacción | Chemistry. Health and social education. Homo faber. How could we manipulate and use gases for the benefit of humans? | | Aims/objetivos | Show an understanding of the states of matter, the molecular model, evaporation and simple gas laws. | Content/contenido | Students will be able: - to distinguish between the properties of different states,to understand the molecular structure of solids, liquids and gases
- to explain the temperature and pressure of a gas by the movement of its molecules,
- to describe qualitatively the effect of a change of temperature on the pressure of a gas at constant volume,
- to understand and describe Brownian motion,
- to describe evaporation and consequent cooling and uses thereof,
- to relate change in volume of a gas to change in pressure applied to the gas at constant temperature
