Aims/objetivos

The student will be able to

  •  Define term of reaction rate.
  •  Describe Various methods of measuring the rate of a reaction.
  •  Interpret graph involving loss in mass, production of gas, production of a colour change.
  •  Explain the effect of changing concentration, temperature, particle size and catalyst on rate on the rate , of a chemical reaction using the collision theory.
  •  State that the light intensity can affect speed of a chemical reaction eg AgBr in photography and photosynthesis in plants.
  •  Give examples of slow, medium, fast and explosive chemical reactions.
  •  Calculat gradients of straight line graphs.
  •  Explain How catalysts and enzymes work.
  •  Describe The catalytic converter in cars and how it reduces pollution.
  •  Relate reaction rates and temperature to Cooking of food and preservation of food.
