Aims/objetivos
  •  Recognize rational and irrational numbers and be able to use them in solving mathematical problems
  •  To be able to solve and transpose linear equations. To fully understand gradient, distance between two points. To be able to sketch and/or find equations of lines from clues.

Content/contenido

Rational and Irrational Numbers. The students will:

  •  Recognize the different types of numbers and represents them in a Venn Diagram
  •  Recognize a surd as an irrational number
  •  Add and subtract surds
  •  Multiply and divide surds
  •  Rationalize the denominator of fractions with surds


Linear Equations. The students will 

  •  Solve a range of linear equations.
  •  Transpose a range of equations
  •  Solve simultaneous equations.
  •  Recognize parallel and perpendicular lines
  •  Find information about a line given an equation
  •  Find equations from clues
  •  Calculate the distance between two points
  •  Calculate mid points
  •  Solve Simultaneous equations using GDC
Summative task / evaluación final
  • Test, Quizzes, Project, Class work
